Shean Bennett is a graduate student in the joint PhD program in Precision and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dublin. He completed an international dual bachelor’s degree program, earning a B.S. in Biotechnology from Pablo de Olavide University in Spain and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Rennes in France. As an undergraduate, Shean worked on projects spanning cancer immunology and epigenetics at INSERM and KU Leuven, and later studied the effects of a high-fat diet in a model of mitochondrial myopathy at the Andalusian Center for Developmental Biology.

His current research focuses on engineering oxygen-generating biomaterials to alleviate tumor hypoxia and improve anti-tumor immune responses. Shean joined the Delgoffe lab in August 2026.
